Ending Workplace TB (EWTB) was referenced in a comment piece published in the British Medical Journal ahead of World TB Day (24th March).
The commentary, authored by Michael Reid and Ambassador Eric Goosby from UC San Francisco, and Sachin Silva from Harvard University, highlights the opportunities to generate significant economic benefits from relatively small increases in TB budgets. It also outlines the significant economic cost of TB - an estimated USD$17.5 trillion between now and 2050.
The commentary argues that ill-health, and particularly TB, carry major, hidden economic costs including for individual companies that warrant dedicated attention. We agree!
